Skype Wi-Fi To Be Available on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch Devices
Skype have announced this week that the new SKype Wi-Fi access app will be available on Apple iPads, iPhones and iPod Touch devices.
The SKype Wi-Fi access app will allow users to connect to over 1 million Wi-Fi hotspots in places including train stations, bars, hotels, airports and restaurants using their existing SKype account. This is great as not only does it allow users to get online using their existing SKype credits but it also people can use the app for short durations rather than paying for a full hour or even day via other Wi-Fi services.
On Skype you only pay for the minutes you actually use so the app would be great for making a quick call or sending an e-mail. The app will also be great to use abroad to avoid paying high data roaming charges.
To start using the Skype Wi-Fi app:
- Visit the Apple app store and download the Skype Wi-Fi app for free
- Open the app on your iPad, Ipod Touch or iPhone
- Sign in with your Skype account details or sign up for a new account
- Find yourself a hotspot and press the go online button
- Press the disconnect button when your finished
To give you a chance to try out the new app you will get up to 60 minutes free on your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch till Sunday 21st August 2011.
