Apple has recently announced that the amount of iPad’s sold at Christmas surpassed their expectations.

The iPad was one of the most popular Christmas gifts and saw Apple’s net income rising to $6bn and revenue growing 1% to $26.7bn.

During the quarter ending on the 25th December 2010 Apple sold 7.3 million iPads, this is over a million more than was predicted by analysts. iPhone sales also grew 86% year on year to 16.2 million units sold.
