A new app has recently been launched in the US that allows users to cash cheques by taking a picture with their phone rather than going to a bank.

The new app has proved to be a big hit in the US and according to reports images to the value of $100,000 were sent in within the first 36 hours.

Users simply take a picture of the back and front of their cheque, send it to Paypal and their account is credited.

Senior Director of Paypal Mobile, Laura Chambers said “We knew that this would be popular but we had no idea just how much demand there was for a quick and easy way to deal with cheques.”

Its unknown at this point in time whether the new app will be released in the UK.
