iPhone Recycling up 70% in December 2010
According to the latest figures the amount of iPhones that are sent in for recycling rose 70% in the last week of December 2010.
The rise in the amount of iPhones being sold is being put down to many people having difficulty making ends meet in the current economic climate. Unfortunately this has meant that many iPhone users have had to sell their prized possession in order to get some extra cash.
The iPhone 3GS is the most popular Apple handset to be sold. Most surprisingly though is that many people are selling their iPhone 4 which only launched in July last year so many who are recycling must still be well within their contracts. The average that an iPhone 4 can be sold for on a recycling site is around £315.
Other smartphones that are also very likely to be recycled include the Nokia 5800 Express Music and the Blackberry Curve 8520. However many people that sell these smartphones will be outside of their contracts and probably have already upgraded.
