In the latest environmental news from Apple they are now shipping their popular iMac and Macbook computer systems in the US with PVC free power cords.
Apple engineers worked with manufacturers and their partners to find a safe alternative to PVC which has now been found. All their MAC systems are shipped with PVC free internal cables.
If PVC is incinerated or manufactured without the proper controls then toxic compounds can be generated which is why Apple has taken the decision to get rid of it from all their computer systems.
Apple are currently working with agencies outside of the US to get the necessary certification needed to ship their PVC free power cords with all systems worldwide.
