According to unofficial figures Apple now have 100,000 apps on their apps store with over 2 billion downloads by iPhone and iPod touch users. Although Apple haven’t officially announced the news but according to unofficial sources there is now 102,000 standard applications available.

The Apple Apps Store was launched in July 2008 with just 500 apps, it is now available to users in 77 countries around the world.

The total number of apps on the Apple app store is way more than on rival’s stores including Windows Mobile Marketplace, Android Marketplace and Nokia Ovi Store all put together.
